I've decided to share my diaper cover pattern today!

I love being able to share what I make and patterns if I can, but in return I expect some credit. I do not mind if you sell products from my pattern, but if you do, please include the link to this page. Please do not sell or claim this pattern as your own. If you don't crochet, you can purchase one of these sets from my Etsy shop! :-D (www.MeetMehaffWay.Etsy.com) OR find me on Facebook (www.facebook.com/MeetMehaffWay) and I may have one available ready-to-ship :-)
Alright, here is my pattern! This is for 0-3 Months. I will add a 3-6 Month size later. This took me MAYBE an hour to make...I was also trying to write it down as I went. If you see any typos or mistakes, please let me know so I can fix it! Thanks :-)
Whatcha Need:
K Hook (6.5 mm)
Bulky Yarn (5) -- I used Premier Deborah Norville Serenity Chunky Weigh
Yarn Needle
Scissors
Notes:
Once you get to the end of the row for 5 - 11, the previous row's ch 2 space will be skipped. You are DC2TOG the third to last and second to last spaces, and the ch 2 space should be left unworked. If this is unclear, please let me know :-)
Stitches to Know:
Ch (Chain)
Sl st (Slip Stitch)
DC (Double Crochet)
TC (Triple Crochet)
DC2TOG (Double Crochet 2 Together)
FDC (Foundation Double Crochet)--This is the BEST thing to know. There are SO many great tutorials out there on youtube and just the internet in general, so if you don't know how to do this yet, just do a quick web search. Once you learn, it's ridiculously easy.
What to DO:
Row 1: FDC 39 (includes beginning Ch 3). Ch 2. Turn. (39)
Row 2: TC 10, DC 20, TC 10. Ch 2. Turn (39)
Row 3: DC across. Fasten off. (You don't HAVE to fasten off here. You could turn and sl. st 10 across, but I, personally, don't like how it looks.) (39)
Row 4: sl st in 11th DC ( you are skipping 10 DC). DC across, but leave 10 st. unworked. Ch 2. Turn
Row 5: DC2TOG. DC across, but DC2TOG last two stitches. Ch 2. Turn.
Row 6: DC2TOG. DC across, but DC2TOG last two stitches. Ch 2. Turn.
Row 7: DC2TOG. DC across, but DC2TOG last two stitches. Ch 2. Turn.
Row 8: DC2TOG. DC across, but DC2TOG last two stitches. Ch 2. Turn.
Row 9: DC2TOG. DC across, but DC2TOG last two stitches. Ch 2. Turn.
Row 10: DC2TOG. DC across, but DC2TOG last two stitches. Ch 2. Turn. (This row should be about 3" long)
Row 11: DC2TOG. DC across, but DC2TOG last two stitches. Ch 2. Turn.
Row 12: 2 DC in first st. DC across. 2 DC in last st. Ch 2. Turn.
Row 13: 2 DC in first st. DC across. 2 DC in last st. Ch 2. Turn.
Row 14: 2 DC in first st. DC across. 2 DC in last st. Ch 2. Turn.
Row 15: 2 DC in first st. DC across. 2 DC in last st. Ch 2. Turn.
Row 16: DC across. Ch 2. Turn.
Row 17: DC across. Fasten off.
Weave in loose ends.
Sew button onto flap.
Viola!
Super quick. Super easy. If you have questions or see any problems, just ask!

Thanks for the pattern! Only took about an hour from start to finish to make for my brand new nephew to go with his minion pattern. Worked amazing with my bulky yarn! Thanks again!!
ReplyDeleteDo you have the pattern for the matching hat?
